Plan Your Vancouver Island Adventure Elopement

Plan your Vancouver Island adventure elopement

Love is an adventure! Plan your elopement the same way!

Have you ever heard of couples eloping at the top of the mountain? How about in any other far-flung places? That is what an adventure elopement is. Through the years, the concept of eloping in epic ways has become famous for unique romantic reasons. Besides how memorable and intimate it can be, the added factor of choosing an incredible location for your special day without so many restrictions makes it a fantastic choice for most. Not to mention how it can give you jaw-dropping photography that you will definitely cherish for the rest of your life.

To have extraordinary locations for you to say "I do" will not be a problem in Vancouver Island. This place is abundant with stunning settings for your adventurous way of tying the knot. Just make sure to plan it based on how you envision it. That way can turn your vision into a reality.

How to choose your location

The freedom to choose wherever you want to say your vows as a couple is such an amazing feeling. There are just so many possibilities! Opting for places like Sooke or Victoria will provide you with backdrops that you will love. Nonetheless, you will have to consider these factors when deciding: 1) the significance of the place for you as a couple, 2) the time spent travelling or hiking to your location, 3) the best season for your location, 4) the photography preference - do you prefer a sunrise or sunset ceremony?

How to get ready for your elopement

Preparation is key to everything - whether it's a traditional celebration or an intimate and adventurous one. Not having a team to prepare everything for you can be overwhelming, so getting ready ahead is important.

Make sure that you have everything ready the day before. You can even start packing way ahead. Pack light for comfort, but bring the essentials, such as mirrors, toiletries, and a first aid kit. You'll never know what might happen, so better be prepared! Don't forget to hydrate as well since outdoor settings can be quite energy-consuming. The least you want to happen is for you to have unpleasant events because you weren’t properly prepared.

How to elope in Vancouver Island

Whether you decide on a fun-filled lakeside ceremony in Victoria or go hiking and kayaking in Sooke, how you elope is completely up to you. Despite that, the process for most is usually the same - first, choose a location, then you will need to get an officiant to do the ceremony. Eloping in these locations also requires you to have at least two witnesses. For most instances, couples ask their photographer to be their witness as well. Isn't it great to have me as a photographer and as a witness at your intimate celebration? You'll have magnificent pictures that you can use to look back on your remarkable day and keep the number of people present on your elopement to a minimum.

Connect with me if you're planning to elope in the most adventurous way! It will be my honour to document it for you and be a witness as well if you need one! For extra inspo, take a look at my portfolio here.
